PORTRAIT LIGHTING WORKSHOP IN THIS EVENING WORKSHOP... participants will deal with a fundamental interpretation of the portrait sitting in the studio environment. Beyond simple poses, we will quickly move where the common portrait ends. Each participant will be learning an effective change brought about by the a certain use of camera and lens and then venture into a clear interpretations of lighting for stronger and more effective results. We will consider the masterworks of such greats as Karsh and Stichen. Understanding what made their works powerful, and with a demonstration of effective lighting, each participant will learn how to bring their subjects to life in front of their camera. We will discuss the creative and intuitive links between the photographer and their subjects, then review our works concluding with suggested direction and further resources.
