Harvest Time Creepy Photo Camp: Day Landscape and Night Workshop
The fall holidays are splashes of beautiful color and fun, creepy and sometimes haunting imagery. If you've ever wanted to shoot both the afternoon and evening colors and shadows of autumn, as well as create fantastic and spooky seasonal photos then this day and evening workshop is for you.
The workshop will start in the morning with some basic technical lessons required to shoot night photos as well as a lesson on night flash photography and how to affect mood with colored gels.
The morning will also cover how to enhance low light and night photography with our digital darkroom. Photoshop is the program we use but the concepts will be applicable to most common photo editing software.
We will break for lunch and then hit the field to photograph some autumn landscapes. We will explore local areas rich in color, autumn decor, and discuss how to create the best pictures of this unique season's changing light.
After dinner participants will venture into the Halloween season's spooky territory and visit locations for a unique experience in night photography. We will experience shooting both "straight" night photography for haunting seasonal pictures near old buildings, as well as learn how to create ghostly and humorous haunted hayride style photos.
Objective: To learn the basics of night photography and have fun shooting images both haunting and comical.
Other Notes: Students should bring camera capable of manual f-stop and shutter speed settings and a laptop if they have one. Students should bring or be prepared to buy lunch and dinner.
