MACRO PHOTOGRAPHY  -  A PHOTOGRAPHIC WORKSHOP - UP CLOSE

Workshop begins: 8: 20 A.M. - Meet and Greet at The Place. We will have get to know one another, talk equipment and lend assistance as we share coffee.

Lesson One: 9 - 11 a.m. .. Nature, close up, weathered details, and nearly any subject will be open to early experiments as we visit gathered props filling the studio in several shooting locations around The Place. There will be abundant subject matter, flowers at their peak and NO WIND. Subjects will be abundant and interesting all within easy reach and attentive instruction to capture subjects for later working as we point toward a full day of learning and beyond.

Lesson Two: 11:20 a.m. to lunch.... We start to wonder the place and learn from other participants as we settle into instruction to explain a fundamental knowledge of macro and micro photography. We will discuss the limits of creative depth of field and why and when to make changes to the f-stops.  Discussion will revolve around technical understandings to reach a working knowledge of what is important and what is not. Knowing the limits of the cameras controls, will bridge us into the afternoon lessons.

Lunch Break: 12: 20 - 1:00 PM  Lunch at a nice little Mexican place up the road

Lesson Three : 1:20 - 3:00 p. m. By now we have settled into the body of macro understanding so the bridge to Photoshop technique begins. We will explore combining multiple exposures, controlled camera blurs and content and adjustment layers to lend flexibility to the image processes. With this awareness, more shooting is in store.

Lesson Four :  3:00 - 5:00 The afternoon shoot will bring to a clear understanding all the knowledge and give an opportunity to playfully experiment with new found technique. We will be going to another level full of complex patterns and intrigue with the setup available and lighting controlled at The Place, new rewards to your images and understanding of photography will accompany handout to assist in your future growth
